You don't necessarily stop thinking about developments in economic theory after you've taken your last economics course -- no matter what career you've pursued.  You may find it rewarding to deepen and broaden your understanding of philosophy even if you have never formally studied it.  Maybe you'd like a place to discuss current pop culture in its historical and social context.  This is the group to do those things.

This group is intended as a kind of online salon devoted to civil, intellectual discussions on a multitude of topics in philosophy, science, art, the humanities, the social sciences and theology. 

 Members may want to contribute book reviews, summaries (along with links) to online articles they believe will be interest to other members, or essays. 

The goal is educational; we will help each other learn and to refine our thinking.  When we challenge each other, politely, it will be to provide evidence and references to support claims, to sharpen the logic of our arguments, or perhaps to clarify our writing.
